Social Events

An important part of Brussels MEU is providing an opportunity for the participants to get in contact with each other, to network and to increase their awareness of current affairs in Brussels. As such, Brussels MEU encourages participants to attend the social events after the committee sessions to gather in a more informal and relaxed environment.

Social events are of great importance for participants to get to know each other and to build bridges of lasting friendship. They become a temporary platform for future European leaders to challenge their ideas and deepen their knowledge with peers from every corner of the Union.

The first night of the Brussels MEU journey will take you through the variety of cultures that make up our European continent. The European Village will take place in the Mini Europe theme park, it includes a night visit of the park with a splendid view on the Atomium. Furthermore, you will be able to drink French wine, eat Spanish tapas and dance to ballistic Balkan beats supplied by your fellow participants. Share your countries’ cultural delicacies, all while enriching your cultural savvy of European specialties in a setting of unity in diversity.

Belgium is famous for its waffles, fine chocolates and special beers. On the second night you will be brought to the Delirium bar where you will mix and mingle with your fellow conference participants. Delirium is a picturesque but highly frequented bar where you can savour the finest beers from every corner of the world. Decorated with old advertising plaques, trays and glasses, you’ll be sure to find the beer that suits your needs with its selection of over 2000 different beers.

An integral part of the European experience in Brussels is ‘Place Lux’, a hotspot for after-work nightlife activity. Students, interns and young professionals working in the European institutions have developed a tradition of winding down with after-work drinks at the Luxembourg square right opposite the European Parliament. This is without a doubt the most relaxing and fitting place to network and to experience what it’s like working in the European institutions.

During the last night of the conference, participants will gather at the Bloody Louis, a trendy club in Brussels, where you will dance the night away and reminisce on the week you shared together. However, this will not be goodbye yet, it is the perfect opportunity to exchange European dancing skills and celebrate the Model European Union spirit through the night!
